My Story

I started my design journey when I transferred into the the school of architecture and design at Virginia Tech. While studying, I worked at the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute as a sole designer within the Center for Automated Vehicle Systems. I developed a UI for L5 autonomous vehicles at VTTI and acted as the only user advocate during the design process. The following year, I spent a semester studying product design at T.U. Delft in The Netherlands.

My experience as an exchange student broadened my design perspective and refined my knowledge in mechatronics and digital interaction. After graduating, I continued my design career in automotive UX. I currently work as an interaction designer for in-vehicle driving experiences at Stellantis. As the lead core UX designer for ADAS within Stellantis, I am working to develop a universal visual/interaction strategy for L2, L2+, and L3 automated driving across all global brands.

When I'm not making stuff, I love listening to psych-rock, playing rec soccer, and taking photos while I travel.

Core Values

Empathy

I believe that every decision made within the design process should be influenced by the thoughts, feelings, and perspective of those affected by the design. Conducting and synthesizing thorough user research is critical in understanding user needs. I strive to listen and validate the feelings of others in order to deliver delightful, satisfying, and empowering experiences.

Strategy

I believe effective design never occurs in a vacuum. Strategic thinking ensures that every design decision is purposeful and aimed toward sustainable, long-term success. This involves thoughtful planning of information architecture, engaging interaction patterns, and alignment to business initiatives.

Modularity

Designing modular interfaces is my secret super power. Considering the part-to-whole relationship of visual elements allows me to create responsive, scalable, and customizable interface architectures with very little software variation. I am passionate about building complete design systems, drag-and-drop UI components, and setting customizable variables for interfaces that can be adopted across multiple contexts.
